It was a fight to the finish Sunday night as viewers were glued to their seat watching a Reno boxer punch it out on the NBC reality show "The Contender."

It was a tough five rounds between Reno's Joey Gilbert and Jimmy Lang of Great Falls, Virginia.

Gilbert and his family watched the fight at the Sierra Gold restaurant and bar Sunday night.

The University of Nevada graduate took the first and second rounds, but it took five rounds before Gilbert was declared the winner in a unanimous decision.

Because of his win, Gilbert now goes to Las Vegas to continue on his quest to win the grand prize of one million dollars.
