Senators may introduce legislation to 'protect Siegfried & Roy'

If the Department of Agriculture doesn't back off demands for video of Roy Horn getting mauled by a white tiger, Nevada's senators may introduce legislation to settle the dispute.

Senator Harry Reid tells The Associated Press that quote, "We are going to do everything we can to protect Siegfried and Roy."

The Agriculture Department has subpoenaed show's producer for footage of the October third incident at The Mirage, where Horn was bitten by a 380-pound tiger.

The show's producer is refusing to hand over the video.

The company, Feld Entertainment, says it's offered to show the footage to the Department of Agriculture but the agency has declined the invitation.

Reid said he and Senator John Ensign spoke with Agriculture Secretary Ann Veneman and were awaiting her response.

The senators have drafted an amendment to attach to an end-of-session spending bill if necessary.
