Woman arrested after allegedly biting NHP trooper

A Northridge, California, woman has been arrested on suspicion of biting the wrist of a trooper who issued her a speeding ticket on Interstate 80 west of Reno.

Helen Walker was told Thursday by the trooper that she was under arrest after she refused to sign her name on the citation accusing her of driving 83 miles per hour in a 65-mile-per-hour zone.

She's then accused of biting the trooper's left wrist as he tried to arrest her near the California line.

The unidentified, 19-year veteran trooper was not injured.

Walker was booked into the Washoe County Jail on various charges, including resisting arrest and felony battery on a police officer.
