Mauled magician Roy Horn tells German magazine he's doing better

Illusionist Roy Horn is telling a German magazine he's doing a lot better and is working hard with a physical therapist.

The "Siegried-and-Roy'' star was mauled on stage by a tiger during a show in Las Vegas last October. He tells the weekly Bunte to "spread the good news that you have spoken to me and that I'm doing well.''

Horn says he's working with the same trainer who helped former "Superman'' actor Christopher Reeve after he was paralyzed from the neck down in a 1995 horseback-riding accident.

The magazine spoke to Horn by telephone from Las Vegas. Roy's partner, Siegfried Fischbacher, has downplayed Roy's injuries from the attack.

The MGM Mirage in Las Vegas says Horn has a long recovery ahead of him.

The duo's long-running Las Vegas Strip show is closed.
