Reno police investigate alleged armed robbery of convenience store

Police are still investigating an alleged robbery that happened at a convenience store in Reno Sunday.

At about 6 p.m., the clerk of the Triple P Discount Store on 501 Keystone Avenue was allegedly approached by a suspect, who police say was armed with either a silver shotgun or rifle.

The accused thief demanded money and cigarettes from the clerk. The clerk gave the suspect an "undisclosed amount of money and two boxes of cigarettes," according to Reno police. The suspected burglar then left the store. The clerk was not injured.

The assailant is described as a man of unknown race, about 5-feet-4-inches tall, and 120 pounds. He was last seen wearing a brown hooded sweatshirt and dark blue jeans.

Those with information regarding this crime are encouraged to contact RPD Detectives or Secret Witness at 322-4900.

Secret Witness is offering a $1,500 reward for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the suspect wanted in connection with this armed robbery.
