Judge: No deposition due yet from Nevada governor

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A federal judge says Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons still doesn't have to provide sworn testimony in a lawsuit by a woman accusing him of accosting her outside a Las Vegas restaurant in October 2006.

U.S. Magistrate Peggy Leen said Tuesday that until there's a ruling on whether the lawsuit can go to trial, the governor and others being sued by Chrissy Mazzeo don't have to submit to questioning by Mazzeo's lawyer, Robert Kossack.

Leen let stand a ban on depositions, pending a ruling by another judge whether the lawsuit can go forward.

Mazzeo alleges conspiracy and cover-up by Gibbons, his attorney Don Campbell, his campaign adviser Sig Rogich, former Clark County Sheriff Bill Young, and Mazzeo's former friend, Pennie
Mossett-Puhek.
